BMJ Group impact report: 2025

Elevating medical education in Georgia How the University of Georgia is transforming medical education with BMJ Best Practice and BMJ Learning BMJ Best Practice and BMJ Learning are strengthening the foundation of healthcare education in Georgia, equipping medical students and educators with the tools they need for evidence based care. Since 2016, BMJ Group has worked with health professionals nationwide through close collaboration with local implementation leads. In 2024, we expanded our impact by partnering with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Georgia to make these resources freely available to students and health professionals nationwide. At the University of Georgia, Tbilisi, Georgia, the medical programme is taught in English and attracts many international students, particularly from India. Professors use BMJ Best Practice and BMJ Learning to develop curricula, prepare lectures and enhance student learning, demonstrating how these resources are now integral to medical education. “We encourage students to use BMJ Group resources. We explain to them why it is important and what benefits they will gain now and in their future work.” Dr Lela Shengelia , associate professor of public health epidemiology and health economics, University of Georgia, Georgia
